How you present your finished items to your customers says alot about your business. You make high quality party favors so your packaging of these items should be professional yet cost effective.
So do you use a worn out box to save money or do you use a new box with your business name and logo printed directly on the box or on a label applied to the top? How would you like to receive a package? In a wrinkled Wal-Mart bag or in a new cello bag tied with pretty curling ribbon? What you choose may depend on having repeat customers or not.
Packaging your items doesn't have to cost a fortune or be boring. A party favor business is all about fun so why not have your packaging reflect that. Try cello bags in bright colors or themed around the holidays. Boxes come in all colors and themes as well or use simple white boxes and tie with different ribbons that coordinate with the products you created inside.
Building your business through packaging has been done for ages. It works for major retail companies and it can work for you too. For example, Macy's uses white bags with a red star. You could have your logo and/or business name printed on bags and boxes or try one of the following cheaper alternatives. 1- Use clear labels printed with your logo and name and stick on bags or on top of the boxes. 2- Pick one or two colors from your logo for all your packaging needs. If your logo is pink & green, make people think of you everytime they see this color combo.
The style of packaging is important also. You probably wouldn't want to use a t-shirt bag to package your candy bars in. You wouldn't expect a t-shirt to come in a cello bag tied with curling ribbon but for wrapped candy, this is presentable, fun, and functionable, (and inexpensive).
Now I have one important question to ask you. What does your current packaging say about you and your business?
